Notes for Tourude “The Woodcutter” de Harcourt
Notes:
Cokayne's "Complete Peerage" (Leicester, p.521). Seigneur of Pont-Audemer in Normandy. According to the Continuator of William of Jumieges, book viii, c.37, Thorold was the son of a certain Torf, but this source is so full of errors, that Thorold must be considered the earliest authenticated ancestor of this line.
Notes for Wevia (Duceline) De (Spouse 1)
Avelina de Crepon
That she was GUNNORA's sister, THOROLD's wife, and HUMPHREY's mother is convincingly proposed in the article "The Sisters and nieces of Gunnor, Duchess of Normandy" in "The Genealogist, New Series" v37 (1920-21). pp 57-65 and 128-132.
