The family in question is, in fact, my great-grandmother Octavia Snyder's family. Octavia was known as "Gertrude" (her middle name). As a child her family called her "Tavi" She was born in W. Va,. subsequently moved with her family to Idaho, and she spent most of her adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Octavia had 3 children and was a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
