Jessie M. Snyder
Jessie M. Thompson Snyder, 81, a resident of Harman, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 14, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 12, 1924, at Tract Mountain in Pendleton County, a daughter of the late George Otis Thompson and Bessie Alice Hartman Thompson.
On July 27, 1940, she was married to John Harold Snyder who preceded her in death April 15, 1984.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Neil (Marlene) Ours of Harman and Mrs. Terry (Rosalind) Wyatt of Elkins; one brother, Paul Junior “Chap” Thompson of Franklin; and three sisters, Donna Alice Thompson Landes Casidy and Tressie Jane Thompson Bridges, both of Bridgewater, Va., and Viola Arvelda Thompson Hevener of Harrisonburg, Va. Three grandchildren, Mrs. Darryl (Stephanie) Roy of Harman, Mrs. Neal (Kim) Paugh of Elkins and J.W. Wyatt and wife, Julie, of Bowden; five great grandchildren; Ethan and Heath Roy, Jessica Corrick, Hillary and Garret Paugh; and several nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Preceding her in death were eight brothers, Raymond Howard “Pete” Thompson, William Denver “Den” Thompson, Ona Glenn Thompson, George Hansel Thompson, Ray Otis “Coy” Thompson, Charles Clarence “Pum” Thompson, Arlie Edwin “Boss” Thompson and Oden Lee “Son” Thompson; and three sisters, Reda Mae Thompson Gauding, Nettie Florence Thompson Alt and Anna Louise “Granny” Thompson Hedrick.

Mrs. Snyder had worked for more than 20 years with Canaan Valley Resorts prior to her retirement. She was a member of Job Church of God.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. today at Tomblyn Funeral Home at Elkins. On Saturday morning, Mrs. Snyder will be moved to Dry Fork Assembly of God Church where friends may call from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the funeral hour. Pastor Todd Rhodes and the Rev. Stanley Kyle will officiated and interment will follow at Buena Cemetery at Canaan Valley. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to either Dry Fork Recreational Center, in care of the Grant County Bank of Harman, P.O. Box 129, Harman, W.Va. 26270 or Job Church of God, HC 65, Box 191, Harman, W.Va. 26270. Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Jessie M. Thompson Snyder.
