He was constable in Rowan Co. N.C. before 1763 Descendants have joined DAUGHTERS OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION on the services of John Wilcokson as an Indian fighter. ----

From THE BOONE FAMILY by Hael Atterbury Sprater. It was said that this John Wilcoxson was killed by Indians in 1782 but there is no confirmation

From THE MAKISSICK TIES TO DANIEL BOONE The Boones were Quakers and evidently John Wilsoxson was not since Sarah was CONDEMNED for MARRYING OUT. Sarah's marriage ( and also the fact that her first child was born suspiciously soon after the marriage cerimony) added further strains between the Boones and the Quaker Society.
