Notes for Conrad Carr
Conrad Carr (Heinrich Henry "Roebuck" (Gehr)4, Hans Jacob3 Karr, Hans Jacob2, Hans Nicolas1) was born January 14, 1755 in Petersburg Hardy Co. West Va.1, and died November 14, 1814 in Pickaway Co. Ohio1. He married Magdelina Shobe 17711, daughter of Martin Shobe and Elisabeth Heyer. She was born September 18, 1749 in Hardy County, VA1, and died 1827 in Pickaway County, OH.

Notes for Conrad Carr:
Conrad Carr was born Jan 14, 1755 in VA. He also served in the Revolutionary War and was a Captain in the County Militia. He served with the John Harness Rangers. He lived in VA and owned the mill in Hardy County. From indications, he was just visiting his children in OH when he died in 1814 in Pickaway County. He was married in VA to Magdalena Shobe (1755-1827). The Shobe family was one of the families that moved from PA with Henry Carr. Although Conrad died in 1814, it was another 7 years before his estate was settled in VA. The appraisal of his estate in 1821 has disappeared from the Hardy County courthouse. Hopefully, the descendant who made off with it will share the information with us some day. It is on film with the library in Salt Lake City, UT. Magdalena stayed on with the children in OH until her death. Their children are the best documented. They were:
1.Elizabeth Carr married Henry Armentrout
2.Mary Carr married John Armentrout
3.Sarah Carr married Jacob Shobe
4.Suannah Carr married James Liggett
5.Magdalena Carr married Jonas Propst
6.Christina Carr married Jesse Peck
7.Hagar Carr married Henry Peck
8.Gideon Carr married Elizabeth Peck
9.Amelia Carr married Jacob Peck
10.Catherine Carr married John Jackson
11.Amos Carr married Margaret Jackson
