Notes for Brychan , King of Brycheiniog
Notes:
Bartrum's "Welsh Classical Dictionary" addresses the problems surrounding Brychan and his many children. Apparently, the sources have conflated at least two different Brychans ruling two different Brycheiniogs, one in southern Wales still called Brycheiniog, and the other around Manaw Gododdin in southern Scotland. This Brychan is the earlier Welsh one. In this database the other individual with which this one is often confused is (RIN 5524).

Notes for Prawst (Spouse 1)
Notes:
From Bartrum's "Early Welsh Genealogical Tracts":
"It looks as if three wives have been made out of one, named Prawst. In Harl. 2414, fo. 68v, at the end of 'Ach Dewi' we find: Mam Eleri oedd Aurbost verch twysawg Kerniw. Mam Aurbost oedd verch amherawdr Ryvain. Similarly Dwnn ii. 64. This suggests that a prince of Cornwall married the daughter of a Roman emperor, presumably Maximus. It is remarkable that such a marriage is actually recorded in Harl. 1974 (c. 1600), fos. 30r and 31r, where we are told that the wife of Tudwal ap Morfawr (see MG 5, JC 11) was Gratian, daughter of Maximus.
Bartrum's "Welsh Genealogies" shows with a "?" that her parents were Tudwal and Gratian, but later removes therelationship as too doubtful.
