56“Joab A. Carr, whose father’s name was Abner, was born in 1844, in Randolph county, and was married in 1865 to Sarah C., daugher of Joseph White, and is of english and Irish descent. Children: Virginia C., Albert, Sylvester J., James B., Sarah E., Mary A. Alpeus, Arthur A. and Mollie. He lives on a farm of 93 acres, with one-third of it improved, on Red Creek, 30 miles from St. George; he was in the Confederate army a few months and in the Union Home Guards.”
