The log house that Walter & Bertha made their home is in the valley just west of the home that Nelson Johnson ( Walt & Bertha's youngest son) is currently living in. Walter & Bertha had the new home built up on the hill in 1919 that Nelson Johnson is the only child of Walt's born in the new house. The cellar was built by Charley ( Walt's brother) and Ben (Walt's father). I know of three cellars built by them which is on each home place. (They are still standing to this day and usable June 23, 2000)
In 1982, I was Nelson's neighbor at the corner...When I wrote the above...What beautiful surrounding country as the scenery unfolds to the horizon from the hills. I was raised just a couple of miles from there on Grandpa Charley's homeplace. Wanda M. (Johnson) Coley.....
