856Family Stories. Elmira married John Wymer Cooper of the Samuel Cooper family-see link.
Elmira was nicknamed "Aunt Duck". She was a small woman, that had a wonderful personality and loved to laugh. Everyone liked to be around her because she was so cheerful and fun. A guess at the source of the nickname may be that as a child, she had a harelip that was later cosmetically fixed. It may be that before it was surgically corrected that it may have caused her upper lip to stick out somewhat. Harelips apparently ran in the McDonald family as Cecil Cooper also had a harelip.
