Annis Parsons, fifth daughter of William and Catherine Stoker Parsons, was born in Randolph County, Virginia (now Tucker County, West Virginia) and grew to womanhood on the plantation; she attended the private schools and was an accompHshed young lay of that day; while she was visiting relatives in Hardy County, she met her husband, it was a case of love at first sight, soon after her return home she was married and went to Preston County, near Kingwood, to build up a home, where she passed away some years later, leaving her small children and a devoted husband.
