COMANCHE-Funeral services for Everett William Vandevender, 84, of Comanche, will be held at 1 p.m. today in the St. Matthews Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Burleson with the Rev. Rick Owen officiating. Interment will follow at 4 p.m. today in the White Point Cemetery in Comanche under the direction of the Hall & Sons Fuenral Home of Coamanche. Mr. Vandevender died Friday, dec. 21, 2001, in I.H.S. Medical Center in Fort worth. He was born Jan. 17, 1917, in Idaho to the late Albert Mead Vandevender and Buena Vista Snyder Vandevender. He married Olene Elizabeth Plummer on Jan. 14, 1946, in Fort Worth. He was a retired tool builder with General Dynamics until his retirement in 1977. He had been a resident of Comanche since 1986 moving here from Burleson. He was a charter member of the St. Mathews Cumberland Presbyterian KChurch in Burleson. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army artillery Division. He was a mason and a member of the Burleson Chapter of the Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services for Lorene Elizabeth Vandevender, 87 of Comanche were held Wednesday, March 21 in the Hall and Sons Funeral Home Chapel in Comanche. Interment was at the White Point Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jeff Swan, Zachary Swan, Jeremy Swan, Garner Roberts, Paul Thompson and Adam Stevens. Mrs. Vandevender died Monday, March 19, 2001, in the DeLeon Hospital. She was a retired insurance executive. She was born February 16, 1914, in Mullin, Mills County, Texas, the daughter of the late Will and Fannie Bean Plummer. She was a charter member of the St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Burleson and a member of the Eastern Star in Fort Worth. Mrs. Vandevender was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Kay Vandevender in 1949. She is survived by her husband, E.W. Vandevender of Comanche; two sons, Rodney Charles and wife, Nancy Swan of Comanche, and Billy Robert and wife, Olivia Swan of Burleson; three brothers, Marshall Plumber and wife, Beverly, of New Braunfels, William Howard Plummer of Comanche, and Bobby Frank Plummer and wife, Mildred, of Henderson; five grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 182, Burleson, Texas 76097 or to the White Point Cemetery Association. Hall and Sons Funeral Home of Comanche handled the arrangements.
