1161Davis, W. Va.---Strite A. Long, 81, of Dry Fork, died Saturday at Tucker County Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Dry Fork, he was a son of the late Samuel and Margaret (Pennington) Long. Mr. Long was a retired farmer and was a member of Riverside Mennonite Church.
Surviving are four sons, Lenza and Russell Long, both of Davis, and Kelly and Jearold Long, both of Dry Fork; five daughters, Miss Nora Long, Mrs. Ella Mowery and Mrs. Lettie Helmick, all of Dry Fork; Mrs. Rosa Jones, Wheeling, and Mrs. Nanna Harper, Baltimore; two sisters, Mrs. Almish Wilfong and Mrs. Catherine White, both of Dry Fork; a half sister, Mrs. Don Pennington, Petersburg; 28 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Riverside Mennonite Church by Rev. Melvin Meyers and Rev. Warren Kratz. Burial will be in Mennett Cemetery.
The body is at the Spriggle Funeral Home and will be taken to the church at 11 a.m. tomorrow.

1162Long, Julia Catherine, daughter of the late Rosetta Burns and George Hedrick of Onego, W. Va., was born March 19, 1891; departed this life Jan. 5, 1954; aged 62 y. 9 m. 21 d. She had been suffering from heart trouble for about two years. She was a faithful member of the Mennonite Church for more than 20 years. She was united in marriage to Strite Ira Long on March 17, 1911. To this union were born 6 daughters and 4 sons. Surviving are her husband, 5 daughters (Rosie, Hatfield, Pa.; Nora, Dayton, Va.; Ella-Mrs. Oliver Mawery, Harman, W. Va.; Nanna and Lettie at home), 4 sons (Lenza and Gerald of Dryfork; Kelly, at home; and Russel, Petersburg, W. Va.), 9 grandchildren, and a brother-in-law (James) who has made his home with them for several years. Funeral services were held at Riverside Mennonite Church, Jan. 7, conducted by Paul Good and Oliver Keener. She was laid to rest in Bennet Cemetery near Dryfork, W. Va
