Notes for Dorothy Ruth Teter
Dorothy Ruth Teter Hile, 82, of Holly Meadows community, Parsons, died Monday, March 7, at Davis Memorial Hospital in Elkins. She had been in declining health and confined to intensive care for the past three weeks and death was attributed to pneumonia.
She was born Dec. 12, 1922, at Elk, Dryfork, a daughter of the late Ira Frank Teter and Celestine Bonner Teter. On Dec. 24, 1940 at Holly Meadows, she was married to Foster Allen Hile, who survives. They celebrated more than 64 years of marriage.
Survivors include a son, Allen Dean Hile of Holly Meadows; a brother, Ronald Leon Teter of Ridgley; a niece, Karen Gaily, a nephew, John Teter, both of Florida; and a sister-in-law, Georgia Teter of Ripley.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Glen Teter.
She was a graduate of Parsons High School with the class of 1940. She had worked for the former Dorman Mills of Parsons in the sales department. She was a homemaker and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Parsons.
Friends will be received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday, March 10, from 6 to 9 p.m. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor Friday, March 11 at 2 p.m. with the Rev. David Fuller officiating.
