436Noble CALLAWAY was born on 15 Mar 1809 in Bourbon County, Kentucky. He married Martha Catherine NICHOLSON, daughter of Benjamin NICHOLSON and Jemima Starr, on 22 Mar 1835.197,198 He died on 28 Dec 1884 in Indiana at age 75.199 From an 1884 history of Washington County, Indiana: "Noble Callaway, son of Micajah and Frankie (Hawkins) Callaway, . . . when one year old came with his parents to this county, which has since been his home. Like the majority of pioneer boys, he had to work hard, early and late, and received such advantages as only that primitive time afforded. Accepting farming as his vocation through life, has steadily followed it, and by his untiring exertions, has secured his wife . . . . Mr. and Mrs. Callaway are among Washington County's best people . . "
