Lucinda Parsons, first daughter of William W. and Hester Ward Parsons, was born in Randolp County, Virginia (now Tucker County, West Virginia). She received her education from private schools and was taught the important lesson of housekeeping.

After her marriage she moved on a farm near New Interest. She was taken with a severe cold and passed away leaving her children at an age when they needed the guiding hand of a mother. She united with the church when a girl and was a devoted christian woman.
