Hi Craig: Found your family genealogy on web this evening and believe we may have a connection. I am a g-g-g-g-g granddaughter of Daniel Leib and have been trying to locate info on the VanBibber connection. I had always believed Emelius was a grand child as he is listed in Daniel's will. He was living with another of Daniel's daughters Serinda Leib Winningham in Green Co Ark. in 1850. I believe he went with the family when they moved to Benton Co Ark in early 1850's.
I am descended from another of Daniel's daughters Mary Adelia and her first husband William L. Winningham. I would appreciate any help you may able to give on Emelus Susan and her son. I have quite a bit of info on the Leibs if you are interested.
My name is Carolyn Goss and I live in Tarpon Springs Fl. Looking forward to hearing from you.
. . . Grandfather
Col. Daniel Leib was born and married in Germany, but settled where Springfield, Illinois, is in a very early day. From there he removed to Randolph County, Arkansas, where he died in 1844. He was a mechanic and a miller and was a Colonel in one of the German wars. He left a very handsome property at Springfield, Illinois, but he lost it through the dishonesty of another man. . . . [
