Orofino - Swen A. Frederiksen, 57, Cavendish farmer and woods worker and the brother of Clearwater County Sheriff Chris A. Frederiksen, died at 1:55 Friday afternoon at Clearwater Valley Hospital of a heart attack. He had suffered several heart attacks at home at Cavendish earlier in the day and another upon reaching the hospital.

He died 1-1/2 hours after he was admitted.

Mr. Frederiksen was born Oct. 14, 1903, at Copenhagen, Denmark, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Frederiksen. The family came to this area in 1908 and farmed at Cavendish and Mr. Frederiksen later farmed there.

He was married to Wanda Daniels at Lewiston Sept. 25, 1935. They were divorced in 1948. They lived at Cavendish until 1940 when Mr. Frederiksen sold his farm and came to Orofino to work for the Clearwater County Road Department until 1955. In the last year of working for that department, he bought another farm and moved back to Cavendish.

Also surviving are two daughters, Anna Jo Frederiksen and Earleen Frederiksen, both of Orofino; one son Clinton of Cavendish; and the father of Orofino.

Notes for Wanda Marie (Spouse 1)
Wanda Wood, 93, formerly of Orofino
1917 – 2011
Wanda Marie Wood was born Dec. 16, 1917 in Teakean, to Fred H. Daniels and Anna M. (Brown) Daniels Bloom. She was the oldest of five children. She passed away peacefully at age 93 in Boise on Tuesday, May 24, 2011, with her family by her side.

Wanda was raised on a farm in Teakean. She attended North Teakean Elementary School and Southwick High School. She married Swen A. Frederiksen in Lewiston in 1935, and together they had three children, Clinton, Anna Jo and Erleen.  Swen and Wanda lived in Orofino with their children.  She married Bud Wood in 1949 in Lewiston and together they had one son, Donald.

Wanda worked as a deputy sheriff for the Clearwater County Sheriff's Department from 1958-1961. In 1961, Wanda moved to Lewiston and worked for the Lewiston Police Department from 1961-1966, and then transferred to the City Clerk's office where she worked until 1972.

In 1972, Wanda went to work for the Nez Perce County Auditor as a Clerk to County Commissioners. She retired from Nez Perce County in 1980. Wanda was a resident of the Royal Plaza from 2006 through 2009, when she moved to Boise to be closer to her daughters.

Wanda was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and friend. She was a longtime member of the Women of the Moose, the Eagles Auxiliary, and the VFW Auxiliary. She also volunteered countless hours for the St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.  She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, baking, canning, crocheting, reading and, perhaps most of all, dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Wanda is survived by her brother Erle H. Daniels (Vivian) of Lewiston; sister Vivian Lambert Stewart (Roy Elliott) of Clarkston, WA; sister Elaine Mathison (Matt) of Lewiston; brother Dale Bloom (Jan) of Lewiston; daughters, Anna Jo Davis (Leonard) and Erleen Mannlein of Boise; son Clinton R. Frederiksen (Carrol) of Orofino, son Donald J. Wood (Debbie) of Lewiston; 10 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Wanda's family wishes to express a special thank you to her daughters, Anna Jo and Erleen, for their loving care of their mother Wanda during her later years.

A celebration of her life was held May 31 at Malcom's Brower-Wann Funeral Home in Lewiston. Interment followed at Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston.
