H. Dean Snyder, 76, Orofino
H. Dean Snyder passed away at his Orofino home, Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003. He was 76. He was born Oct. 26, 1927 at Kamiah to Harmon and Catherine Louise Schlader Snyder. When he was a young boy the family moved to the Weippe area. He graduated from Weippe High School in 1946, and married his high school sweetheart, Irene Anderson, Sept. 25, 1948. They lived in Weippe until 2001, when they moved to Orofino. Dad was a logging truck driver through his career, working for Schmidt Bros., Carl Nelson, and he worked for the Clearwater Highway District until his retirement. In his earlier years, he enjoyed coaching young kids in baseball and basketball. He loved spending time on Dworshak Lake, kokanee fishing with his kids, grandkids and friends, always bring fish home for Mom to can. He always enjoyed making beer and cutting firewood, always having a two-year supply piled up. He was a talented musician, who loved to play his guitar and sing with his friends. Country music was his favorite. Since moving to Orofino, he enjoyed feeding the ducks at Hidden Village, and most of all, visiting with his neighbors and friends. He was always ready for a visit or phone call from his kids and grandkids. He was a very loving dad and papa. Aug. 21, 2003 his beloved Irene passed away after a long illness. He is survived by one son, Michael Snyder, Orofino; two daughters, Jeanne Wilson and husband Ken of Kendrick and Wilma Hartig and husband Gary of Weippe; grandchildren Nicole and Cade Konen of Moscow, Shane and Crystal Wilson of Defiance, OH, Randy and Sheri Hartig of Lewiston, Amanda and Bruce Lee of Rathdrum, Aaron Snyder of Lewiston and Reese Snyder of Weippe; one brother, Glen and Connie Snyder of Lewiston; one sister, Donna Scaggs of Nampa; two great-grandchildren, Matthew and Morgan Konen of Moscow; a sister-in-law, Mildred D.
