Notes for James Charles “Jim” Price
James Charles Price, 74, long-time resident
James (Jim) Price, a longtime resident of Clearwater County, has passed away to join loved ones that have led the way. He was 74.
Born as James Charles Price to Ora C. Price and Zerna Snyder on June 28, 1940. He grew up and went to school in the Weippe and Fraser areas. Jim was the youngest of eight children.
Jim worked in the woods as a “Jack of all trades,” running loaders, skidders, and cats, but his main love was his logging trucks. Jim worked many years for H&W Logging, and at one time owned his own company, “Price Logging.”
Jim married Rose Ester Moore on May 27, 1957. They welcomed their first child, Rosetta, on their first anniversary. There would be three more children to follow: a son, James, who they lost as an infant; then two daughters, Patricia and April.
Jim enjoyed spending time with family, camping, hunting, fishing, picking berries and mushrooms, going on picnics and drives through the back country, and family get-togethers.
Jim also had a love of country music and dancing, and this love, after his Rose passed away, would be what would lead him to his new love, Yvette Fuchs. After three years of courting they were married on Aug. 15, 2003. To this marriage she brought love, laughter, and a daughter, Denise Hodges. Yvette also took care of Jim’s sweet tooth with his love of her sticky buns.
Jim passed away Friday, Aug. 15, 2014, on his eleventh wedding anniversary, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers Robert, Bill, and Paul Roy; brother John Price; sisters Helen Livingston, Cora Sammons, and Virginia Jarad; his wife, Rose Price; son Jim; daughters Rosetta and April; and a granddaughter, Rose Marie.
He is survived by wife Yvette; daughter Patty; stepdaughter Denise; many grandsons and granddaughters, including DJ Powell, Victoria Hudson, CJ, James, and Timber Sharrard, Jeff and Ashley Carlson, Cody Martress, and Cheyenne Bergenholtz; step grandchildren AJ, Neikoel, and Alisyia Espinosa; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial potluck was held Aug. 22 at Orofino City Park.
