213Samuel was mentioned in Germanna Record No. 6 (pg. 92) as having bought land in Culpeper Co., VA in 1765. He moved at an early date to Kentucky and died in Nelson Co., Ky. in 1800. His will, dated Mar.22,1800 and probated in May, 1800 (King "Early Kentucky Wills", p.188, Nelson Co. Book "A"), mentions his wife Sarah; children Benjamin,Gilly, Mary Rawson, Sally Brown, Patty Snyder, Charlotte Eldridge, and Nancy Dorsey; and appoints as executors his son James Brown, Charles Wortham, and Beall Dorsey.
