Yvonne Estelle Cooper Webster, 93, of Harman, departed this life at 9:35 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011, in the Elkins Rehabilitation and Care Center (ERCC). Her health had been declining since December 2010. Death was attributed to congestive heart failure. She is now in the care of her Lord and Savior.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1918, a daughter of the late Floyd Mason Cooper and Effie Mae Armstrong Cooper.

WEBSTER

In 1948, she married Charles "Snook" Webster in Harrisonburg, Virginia, where she resided for more than 50 years. While in Virginia, Yvonne worked and retired from Metro Pants Co. as a seamstress. She later worked at Sunnyside Nursing Home and was a caregiver for several individuals in the Harman area. Yvonne was an active member of the Nazarene Church while in Harrisonburg and the Harman Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by her last remaining sibling, her beloved sister, Merry Ellen Cooper Dice of Harman. The two have resided together since 1992. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, Hazel Ann and Ray Hesson, Jackie Dwight and Claudia Cooper, Donald Ross and Emma Cooper, Janie Cooper, Joy Vandevander, Merry Lou and Rex Vance, Thomas Worth and Angela Cooper, Harry Armstrong Jr. and Theresa Cooper, Terry Wade and Roxanne Cooper, Jimmy Dean and Denise Cooper. She is also survived by 12 great-nieces and nephews, Stacy Sturdivant, Megan Vance, Josh Vandevander, Rex Jay Vance, Jeremy Vance, Merry Jo Ellen Vance, Moriah Warner, Brandy and Chelsey Cooper, Misty and Lee Allen Cooper and Mackenzie Cooper.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her husband "Snook," on April 19, 1977; her older sister, Freda Susan Yokum on Dec. 2, 2009; brothers, Morris Jim Cooper on Dec. 12, 1975, Worth Jack Cooper on April 12, 1992, Eldon Foch Cooper on March 15, 2003 and Harry Armstrong Cooper on Oct. 6, 1996. She was also preceded in death by nephews, Robert Morris Cooper and Homer John Yokum; and one niece, Carlin Lorece Cooper.

Friends will be received Wednesday May 18, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Harman Church of the Brethren. Funeral services will be Thursday at the church at 1 p.m. with Pastor John Moyers officiating. Interment will follow in the Cooper Cemetery.
