Gladys Mae (Mongold) Cooper, age 71, of Seneca Rocks, WV died Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, WV.
She was born on August 21, 1939 in Petersburg, WV and was the daughter of the late Daniel B. Mongold and Beatrice (Hall) Mongold. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Daniel Mongold; and two sisters, Donna Marie Mongold and Agnes Hedrick.
Mrs. Cooper was a 1957 graduate of Petersburg High School. She retired from the Department of Health and Human Resources after 45 years. She continued working at the J.C. Penney Catalog Store at Judy's Drug Store in Petersburg. She also worked for Hedrick's 4-U Restaurant and the Front Porch Restaurant in Seneca Rocks.
She was a member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church and the former Onego-Seneca Extension Homemakers Club. She enjoyed weaving, gardening, baking and spending time with her family.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Schaeffer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. (May 19th) at the Schaeffer Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Baer, Jr. officiating.
Interment will be in the Cooper-Bible Cemetery, Seneca Rocks, WV.
