Mildred C. Goff
Mildred Cooper Goff, 96, a resident of Harman, passed away Sunday, June 5, 2005, in Davis Memorial Hospital.
She was born Oct. 20, 1908, at Onego, a daughter of the late Harris W. and Bertha R. Huffman Cooper.
In September 1933, at Dresden, Ohio, she was married to Cecil R. Goff, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are one son, Harry H. Goff of Harman; one daughter, Rosalita M. Goff Carr and husband, Carl, of Hopewell, Va.; one brother, Roy Gene Cooper of Canton, Ohio; one sister, Neva Simmons of Baltimore, Md.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Maysell Hanley and Ethel Harr; and one brother, Burline Cooper.
Mrs. Goff was a graduate of Davis & Elkins College. On June 14, 1974, she retired from the Randolph County school system after serving more than 35 years as a teacher. She loved reading the Bible and spending time with her family. Mrs. Goff was a member of the Harman Church of the Brethren.
Friends may call from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. today at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins. On Thursday, Mrs. Goff will be moved to the Harman Church of the Brethren where friends may call from noon until 1 p.m., the funeral hour. The Rev. John Moyers will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain State Memorial Gardens. The Tomblyn Funeral Home of Elkins is in charge of the arrangements for Mildred Cooper Goff.
