Jack David Cooper, 67, Woodstock, VA, died Thursday, Aug. 2, 2001, at Tandem Health Care in Woodstock, VA.

Mr. Cooper was born Aug. 22, 1933, at Mouth of Seneca and was a son of the late Ernie Benjamin Cooper, Sr. and Daisy Belle Painter Cooper.

He was a veteran of the US Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Muhlenberg Post No. 199 American Legion and the first Baptist Church in Woodstock, VA. He was owner and operator of Jack's Tire Company and C&C Auto Sales in Edinburg, VA.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret Vizard Cooper, whom he married Nov. 3, 1956; two sons, Tim L. Cooper and Derek W. Cooper, both of Woodstock, VA; a daughter, Stephanie Cooper Sherman, Woodstock, VA three sisters, Olive Arementrout, Franklin, Anne Cubbage, Harrisonburg, VA, and Pat Cooper, Edinburg., VA; four brothers, Gene Cooper, Harrisonburg, VA, Jerry Cooper and Benny Cooper, both of Woodstock, VA, and Harry Cooper, Edinburg, VA; and eight grandchildren.

Dr. Ray Frazier and the Rev. George Bowers conducted the funeral at 2 p.m. Sunday at First Baptist Church in Woodstock, VA, with full military honors by the Strasburg American Legion Post 77 at the church following the service. Burial was at Rest Haven Gardens in Harrisonburg, VA.

Dellinger Funeral Home, Woodstock, VA, was in charge of the arrangements.
