Majesta Farance
FARANCE, Majesta - Age 79, of Orofino, Idaho, formerly of Winston, Oregon, passed away on Sunday, November 28, 2004, in an Orofino hospital. Majesta was born on October 5, 1925, in Kamiah, Idaho, to Eugene Hawkins and Georgia Knight Hawkins. She attended school at Weippe, Idaho, and graduated from Weippe High School. She married Bruce Farance on September 15, 1942. Bruce passed away in Roseburg, Oregon, in 1990. They lived in Lewiston, Kamiah, and Orofino and in Winston. While living in Orofino, Majesta, known as Maggie, worked at the State Hospital North, and received her LPN license while employed there. After moving to Winston, she worked at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Roseburg until her retirement. Due to her health, she had recently moved to Orofino to live with her daughter, Sherry Farance. Survivors include four daughters, Sherry at the family home; Carol Holloway of Orofino; Darla Glendening of Haddon Heights, New Jersey; Paula Clark of Ventura, California; and four brothers, Galen Hawkins of Kamiah; Ray Hawkins of Clatskanie, Oregon; Melvin Hawkins of Canyonville, Oregon; and Paul Hawkins of Salem, Oregon; eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a date to be announced later. The family suggests that memorials be made to the VFW Post 2468 Auxiliary, 1127 NE Walnut St., Roseburg, OR 97470.
