Swearingen who was reared at Fairmont, West Virginia. They established their home at Red Creek, West Virginia, where he was a merchant and served as postmaster for several years. The names of their children were Wilbert, Lester, Lorenzo (desceased), Oda (died of diphtheria in childhood), and Forest."
