Provy Ellen Lambert first married H.L. Nestor,of Meadowville, Barbour County, West Virginia. To them one son, French, was born. Her second marriage was to Warren G. Swearingen who was reared at Fairmont, West Virginia. They established their home at Red Creek, West Virginia, where he was a merchant and served as postmaster for several years. The names of their children were Wilbert, Lester, Lorenzo (desceased), Oda (died of diphtheria in childhood), and Forest."
"At the time of her death, Mrs Swearingen had passed her ninty-third birthday. After being striken with a cerebral hemmorrhage at her home in Davis,West Virginia, shepassed away in the Davis Memorial Hospital. Elkins, a few days later. Until the time of her last illness she retained her faculties remarkably well, and was thus a valuable source of family and local history. In her most interesting manner of conversation she took delight in relating facts about the manners and customs of the people following the Civil War."
