Hist of Ritchie Co W Va. Shiela Ireland Cummingham, and Joan Seigert. Son of W P Ireland grandson of Geo M, great grandson of Thomas; gg grandson of Alexander.
Veteran of WW11 served in the 45th Infantry Division; survived campaign battles on two beachheads. He and his wife Alberta bought 139 acres fm W P in 1950 and built a new brick home on White Oak. Involved in church, farm bureau, farm women's club and 4 H. In a few years the original homestead on Hughes River, the Ellis Prunty farm and the ancestral home farm of R M Pritchard were added to form Shamrock Hereford Farms. These farms are now operated by the whole family. - Son Lynwood engineer for Dupont, his wife Karen a registered nurse, with their children Heather, Todd, and Brian live on the Hughes River farm.
Daughter Shiela with her husband Ray Cunningham and their children Allen and Michell live on the Morgan Pritchard farm where they have established an accounting business. Alberta K is teaching in the Harrisville High School and Guy Ross retired in 1977 after 34 years as Statistician for the Quality control Engineering Co of the Union Carbide Corp.
