Leonard Pennington, 93, of Ridgely, died March 18.
He was born June 1, 1911, at Dryfork, a son of the late Robert Henry and Lottie Ellen Wolford Pennington. He was twice married, first to the late Edith Kathaline Roy Pennington, who preceded him in death in 2000 and then to Pauline C. Meyers Pennington, who passed away in 2003.
Survivors include four sons, Herbert Dale Pennington of Dry Fork, Joe Donald Pennington of Baltimore, Md, Roy Eugene Pennington, Forrest M. Pennington of Terra Alta; And Roy Eugene Pennington of Dry Fork; 17 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Smith; five brothers and five sisters.
Mr. Pennington worked the assembly line for Kelly Tires before retiring. He was a member of the NRA.
Friends were received March 20 at the Dry Fork Assembly of God Church. Funeral services were held there on March 20 with the Rev. Bruce Craig and Rev. Kenneth Plaster officiating. Interment followed at Roy Cemetery, Bonner Mountain, Dry Fork. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
