TOYE ETHEL BONNER WHITE, age 74 years, a resident of Hambleton, WV., departed this life Tuesday evening, May 4th, 2004 at her home. She had been in declining health and death was attributed to heart failure.
She was born Thursday, May 16, 1929 at Dry Fork, WV., a daughter of the late Solomon Bonner and Lorena Bonner. She was first married to Vicent Johnson, second to Hoye Snyder and third to Lukens White, all precede her in death.
Surviving are two sons; Melvin Johnson and Henry Blake Snyder and wife Kim, all of Hambleton, one daughter; Gloria Elaine Snyder and Fiance Glen Fladung of Martinsburg, four grandchildren; Henry Blake Snyder, Jr., Andrew Blake and Amber Nicole Fravel and Caitlin Marie Fladung, and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family having been preceded in death by one infant daughter; Jennie Rae Snyder, five brothers; Edgar “Buck” Bonner, Stanley Bonner, Ocie Bonner, Mitchell Bonner and Wilbur Bonner, three half brothers; Albert “Doc” Bonner, Will Bonner and Boyd Bonner, three half sisters; Minnie White, Mamie Bell and Lou Harper and one infant grandson; Ronald William Snyder.
She attended the one room school at Lanesville. She was a member of the Mackeyville Community Church and she was a homemaker.
The family will receive friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons on Thursday from 6 to 9 PM. Final rites will be conducted at the funeral home parlor on Friday, May 7, 2004 at 11 AM. Pastor Pat Cassidy will officiate and interment will follow at the Flanagan Hill Cemetery at Red Creek, WV. 1605Hoye Blake Snyder, 80, a resident of the Roaring Run community, Hambleton, died Feb. 17, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born Monday, Jan. 28, 1924, at Leadmine, a son of the late Henry Carl Snyder and Jennie Rae Judy Snyder. He was formerly married to Toye E. White, who survives.

Also surviving are a son, Henry Blake (and Kim) Snyder of Hambleton; a daughter, Gloria Elaine Snyder of Martinsburg; a stepson, Melvin Ronald Johnson of Hambleton; two brothers, Bill (and Dottie) Snyder of Mackeyville and Kelly (and Adelene) Snyder of Parsons; seven sisters, Lena Snyder-Pennington of Parsons, Gaye Day of Lanesville, Betty (and Paul) Bonner, Sharon (and Walter) Nestor, and Patti (and Ruby) McDaniel, all of Parsons, Muriel Simmons of Brunswick, OH, and Shirley (and Robert) Allison of Garrettsville, OH; four grandchildren, Henry Blake Snyder Jr., Andrew Blake and Amber Nicole Fravel and Caitlin Marie Fladung; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Jennie Rae Snyder; two brothers, Kenneth and Gerald Snyder; two sisters, Tacie DeWalt and Opal Griffith; and one infant grandson, Ronald William Snyder.

Mr. Snyder worked for the (CCC) Civilian Conservation Corps and retired from the Tucker County Board of Education. He was a protestant.

The family received friends at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Parsons. Final rites were conducted at the funeral home parlor with Pastor Pat Cassidy officiating and interment followed at the Pennington Cemetery at Dry Fork.

Johnson, Vicent, son of Jacob and Mary Jane (Wilfong) Johnson, was born July 25, 1917, at Red Creek, W. Va.; died after a lingering illness at Parsons, W. Va., hospital; aged 43 y. 30 d. Surviving are his wife (Toy Ethel Johnson, Thomas, W. Va.), one son (Melvin), 4 sisters and 4 brothers (Mrs. Rose Breedlove, Mrs. Della Mallow, Lena, Mrs. Lulu Wilfong, Dorsey, Stanley, all of Cumberland, Md.; and Jasper, Parsons, W. Va.). He was a member of the Mennonite Church. Funeral services were held at the Flanagan Hill Church, in charge of Bill Angel and Warren Kratz.
