George Gleason of Pierce Dead
Pierce - George Gleason, 65, of Pierce died Friday noon at St. Joseph's hospital, Lewiston, after an illness of three months. He entered St. Joseph's this week after spending ten days at the Orofino hospital. Death was attributed to leukemia.

Mr. Gleason was born Aug. 15, 1886 in Kansas. He came west to Orofino at the age of 16. For the last ten years he had been employed as a carpenter at the lumbering firm of L. Cardiff, Inc., Pierce. He had planned to retire this summer.

Mr. Gleason was a veteran of World War I.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Alberta Deering of Tacoma and Mrs. June Snyder of Grangemont; four sons, George Gleason, Jr. Orofino, Elbert Gleason, Grangemont, Vilas Gleason, Aberdeen, Wash., and Cpl. Stuart Gleason, Fort Lewis, Wash; three sisters, Mrs. Viola Willhite, Vancouver, Wash., Mrs Mabel Weseman, Washougal, Wash., and Mrs. Bessie Atwood, Lewiston; a brother, Charles Gleason of Orofino, and nine grandchildren.

The body is at Gilbert's funeral home, Orofino. Arrangements are pending.
