1006Charlotte Belle Lawrence Pennington, 68, a resident of the Teaberry Hills Community, Elkins, died June 29, at her home. She had been in declining health for the past four months as the result of a heart attack.
She was born July 24, 1936, at Lanesville, a daughter of the late James M. Lawrence and Rev. Goldie M. Pennington Lawrence.  On Oct. 27, 1952 at Cumberland, Md., she was married to Otto M. Pennington, who survives.
Survivors include six sons, Dennis (and Sandra) Pennington  Darrell (and Janet) Pennington and Sabin Pennington, all of Winchester, Va., Scotty (and Michelle) Pennington and Kevin (and Cathy) Pennington, all of Elkins, and the Rev. Eric (and Cammie) Pennington of Fort Chiswell, Va.; a daughter, Sheila (and Bill) Lloyd of Winchester, Va.; two brothers, Erroll Keith (and Martha "Marty") Lawrence of Elkins and Samuel David (and JoAnn) Lawrence of Belington; two sisters, Barbara Sue (and William) Berry of Parsons and Althea June (and David) Judy of Elkins, 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, James Jr. and Loren Jackson Lawrence; three sisters, Gladys Roy, Maxine Minge, and Lola Pennington; and two great-grandsons, Ryan and Dallas Lloyd.
She attended the schools of Lanesville and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God.
Friends were received at the Lohr & Barb Funeral Home of Elkins on July 1.  On July 2, she was moved to the Hambleton Pentecostal Church of God where funeral services were held with the Revs. Eric Pennington, Gloria Roy and Joshua Pennington officiating. Interment followed at the Mountain State Memorial Gardens at Gilman.
