Services for
Dan Johnson, 51 [36?], formerly of Hendricks, who drowned last Sunday while swimming in a Baltimore lake, were held there Thursday. Burial was in Church of God Cemetery, Baltimore.
Mr. Johnson was born at Flanagan Hill, Tucker County, a son of Mrs. Jane (Wilfong) Johnson, Cumberland, and the late Jacob Johnson. He had resided in Baltimore the past 11 years and was employed in a shipyard.
Besides his mother and widow, Mrs. Vernie Johnson, he is survived by two stepsons, Golden and Stanley Turner, Baltimore; five brothers, Bicie Johnson, Baltimore; Walter, Stanley and Dorsey Johnson, Cumberland, and Jasper Johnson, Hendricks, and five sisters, Mrs. Floda Bonner, Mrs. Rosa Breedlove, Mrs. William Wilfong, Mrs. Henry Mallow and Miss Lena Johnson, all of Cumberland, and one granddaughter.
Attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Cal Johnson, Parsons; Mr. and Mrs. Roy Johnson, Canton, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Dorsey Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. William Wilfong, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mallow, Miss Lena Johnson, and Mrs. Rose Breedlove and son, all of Cumberland.
