Norman Clair Snyder, 76, Weippe
Norman C. Snyder passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2004 of cancer at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. He was 76. Norman was born July 30, 1928 to Walter and Flarnie Bonner Snyder. He spent most of his life in Weippe. After serving in the Korean War he met and married A. Gerry Wiley on June 21, 1953. They returned to Weippe, where he worked for Schmidt Bros. Lumber Mill for several years. He then worked for School District #171 as a custodian and bus driver. After that he worked for Carl Nelson Logging as a truck driver and finished his employment with Finke Logging. Norman enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and watching his grandson play baseball. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Gerry Snyder; one daughter, Debra and Jim Kidder of Lewiston; four sons, Gary and Lisa Snyder of Lewiston, Gerald and Lawanda Snyder of Emmett, Dale Snyder of Lewiston and Ronald Snyder of Weippe. Grandchildren include Jodie, Nikki and Jacee, Lewiston and Brian and Travis, also of Lewiston, Lacey of Emmett, Lisa Zander of Hawaii, and Noell and Desi of California. Also surviving is one sister, Delores Brink of Lewiston and one brother, Boyd Snyder of Orofino. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11 at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Don Blain will officiate. Pine Hills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
