Donna Clara Snyder Scaggs went home to be with her Savior at 9:48 p.m. Tuesday, March 16, 2010, in Nampa at the Trinity of Holly Care Center. Donna was born to Harmon and Catherine Louise Schlader Snyder in Kamiah on April 17, 1931. Donna's grandmother, Clara Snyder, was the midwife.
Donna moved with her family to the Fraser Prairie near Weippe. She went to the North Idaho College of Education (now Lewis-Clark State College) in Lewiston and received her teaching certificate in 1950. She began teaching in Vale, Ore., in the fall of that year.
She met her husband Leroy in Vale and the couple moved to Caldwell in 1952 after the birth of a daughter. Donna and Leroy moved to Portland, Ore., in 1974 and then back to Lewiston. Her marriage ended in divorce in 1977.
