Robert Leon Cooper, age 71 years, a resident of Belington, passed away Saturday, January 17, 2009 in the Davis Memorial Hospital. He was born March 10, 1937 at Harman a son of the late Leonard Brown and Velma Teter Cooper. Surviving are his wife, Florence Tenney Cooper, Belington, two daughters, Ginger Dawn Cooper and Bobbi Jo Cooper both of Belington, two brothers, Phil Cooper and Jack Cooper, six sisters, Bonnie Nelson, Donna Carter, Diane O’Brien, Stella Wyatt, Shirley Cooper and Wendy Cooper and numerous nieces and nephews. Also preceding him in death were one brother, James Cooper and two sisters, Jane Scarce and Lorena Hall. Mr. Cooper was a lumberman and retired as a laborer at the Butcher Quarry at Bowden. Mr. Cooper’s remains were cremated. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at the Tomblyn Funeral Home in Elkins with Pastor Mark Houser officiating.
