179Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, March 22, at the Brake Church on Mill Creek for Noah Markwood Ours, age 69 years, who passed away March 19 at the home of his son, Ever Ours, of Dorcus with whom he had been residing since last July.
Services were conducted by Rev Litton and burial was in the family cemetery. Deceased was born and raised in Grant county and on April 25, 1903, was married to the late Flora Grove Stump. He was a son of the late George and Elizabeth Cullers Ours.
Mr. Ours is survived by the following children: Mrs. John Neff of Moorefield, Ever Ours of Dorcus, Mrs. Edward Hedrick of Petersburg, Mrs. T. E. Waterfield of Village, Va., Mrs. Blaine Alt of Short Gap, Mrs. Lewis West of Washington, Harman Ours of Upper Tract, Glen Ours and Misses Goldie and Ruth Ours of Dorcus. Six children died in infancy.
Deceased is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Margaret Ketterman, of Rockville, Md., a half sister, Mrs. Raymond Crites, of Shippensburg, Pa., and 13 grandchildren.
Active pallbearers were: Walter Kite, Hubert Mongold, Roscoe Kite, Evers Bergdoll, Dr. Hugh Allen and Hobert Ours. Honerary pallbearers were: Eddie Harrison, Gene Brake, Earl Thorne, John Nelson, Paul Neff, William Mongold and Paul Raines.
