Laurence H. Carrico, 79, Pierce
Laurence H. Carrico, 79, Pierce, was born Sep. 27, 1925 to Henry and Edith Carrico at Orofino and died Feb. 20, 2005 at Orofino of congestive heart failure. Laurence was a truck driver before and during retirement and had worked for R.F. Coon Logging, Inc.; Frank Davis Trucking and other long haul trucking companies. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and had been an atomic bomb test participant at Enwietoc servicing for more then ten years. Favorite hobbies included fishing and visiting with friends and family. He enjoyed people and rarely thought of someone as a stranger, but just a new friend regardless of their station in life. He enjoyed people and life, trying to brighten and cheer others in spite of what the occasion presented. He fought the fight against blindness and diabetes, which afflicted him. He is survived by a brother, Joseph R. Carrico of Soldotna, AK; sons Walter McLeod, Orofino and David Carrico of Weippe; grandson Stephen P. Carrico of Lewiston; and a granddaughter Jamie Lynn Carrico of Lewiston. A son, Stephen P. Carrico of Weippe, preceded him in death. Laurence had the cowboy spirit and loved to travel and was fond of adventure, new places and meeting new people. Work was no stranger to Laurence; often it was one of his favorite hobbies. There will be no service at this time.
