Notes for Sallie T. (Spouse 1)
Sallie T. Judy Nelson

On February 26, 1943, a quiet, unasumming (sp) Christian Soul, in the person of Sallie Nelson, wife of Zell M. Nelson of Circleville, W. Va., changed this world for eternity. Sister Nelson had prepared for this journey some years ago. She accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized into the Church of the Brethren by Rev. Minor C. Myers, on July 26, 1913. Fro that day until the day of her decease here she lived an untiring and faithful Christian life.
Sister Nelson was a noble Christain wife and mother. Hers was that quiet, unassuming life wholly devoted to her Savior and her family, She was typical in every one of the good wife described in the Proverbs of the Bible. Her life belonged to her good husband and her beloved children.
Although fulfilling the high calling of a Christian wife and mother and although so very quiet in her good works, she was never too busy or too tired to serve the numerous guests and friends who highly enjoyed the hospitallity (sp) and Christian fellowship in the Z. M. Nelson home.
On the 6th day of February, 1877, Sister Sally Judy Nelson was born. On October 8, 1899, she and Z. M. Nelson were united in marriage. To this union the following children were born/; Robert C. Nelson, Moundsville, W. Va.; Leona Nelson Cook, Circleville, W. Va. Nola M. Nelson Lambert, Wymer, W. Va., Mary Teter Nelson, who departed from this life sometime ago, and Virginia Nelson Harper, Keyser, W. Va.
In addition to the above living children, Sister Nelson is survived by her good husband, Zell M. Nelson, Circleville, W. Va.; two brothers Charles P. Judy, Beverley, W. Va.; one sister Le Anna Judy Thompson, Cherry Grove, W. Va.; fourteen of the original grandchildren, a number of nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
Thus after untold suffering from a lingering illness, at the age of 66 years and 20 days, a tired and wayworn child of God, pillowed her head upon the loving bosom of her Savior, and fell asleap (sp) in his strong, protective arms, peacefully waiting to hear his kind voice calling her forth in the Resurrection Morning.
Funeral services were conducted in the old Union Church at Circleville W. Va., by Rev. I. L. Bennett assisted by Rev. Kesecker, Following these services the body was laid to rest in the home burying grounds.
