Helen Marie Cooper Yoakum, age 82 years, a resident of 4-H Camp Road, Beverly, WV departed this life early Monday morning, January 4, 2010 at her home. 
She was born Sunday, November 27, 1927 at Wymer, a daughter of the late Job Cooper and Lenola Teter Cooper. On August 19, 1950 at Belington, she was married to Troy Dwight Yoakum who preceded her in death on January 17, 2009. They had celebrated fifty-eight years of marriage. 
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Raymond Yoakum and wife, Ellen and John Dwight Yoakum and wife, Marsha, one daughter, Wanda “Susan” Zirkle and husband, Jesse, all of Beverly, two brothers, James Whaley and wife, Laura, Clarksburg and Richard G. Whaley and wife, Flora, Leesburg, VA, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter. 
Preceding her in death was one daughter, Lenora Ann Yoakum, two brothers, Isaac and Eugene Cooper, and two sisters, Annalee Cooper and Mildred Teter Griffith. 
She was a graduate of Belington High School with the class of 1948, had worked for Westinghouse / General Electric, was a homemaker, and was a teacher’s aide for the Randolph County Board of Education. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, cooking, and being with her family, and she was a member of the Beverly United Methodist Church. 
At Mrs. Yoakum’s request, private family services will be held.
