Naomi and Dick Pennington of Harman celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 30 at the old home place of Doris and Alonzo Ours.

The couple were married on Aug. 19, 1961, at Cabins Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Moore officiating. They spent their honeymoon at Niagara Falls, N.Y.
During the celebration, friends and family gathered under a large tent in the front yar of the home for food and fellowship. Under a second tent was a display containing the anniversary cake, yellow roses, gold candles and photos of the couple taken over the years. Music for the occasion was provided by the Rev. Brady Goldizen, Jeremy Watts and Jason Ours.

The anniversary gift to each other was a trip earlier this year to Australia, New Zealand and the Fiji Islands. Mr. Pennington retired from the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources with 30 years service. He is the son of the late Stellman and Ada Pennington. Mrs. Pennington is retired from the West Virginia Bureau of Employment Programs. She is the daughter of the late Alonzo and Doris Ours.
