Virginia Mae "Jenny" Lanham Snyder, 70, of Mill Creek, passed away July 27, 2008, at the home of her daughter.
She was born May 26, 1938, at Hemlock in Upshur County, to the late Van Buren and Icie Elenor (Currence) Lanham.
Virginia attended Tygarts Valley High School and graduated in 1956. On Oct. 8 of that year, she was married to the late Fred Irvin "Pug" Snyder, and to this union eight children were born.
Survivors include three sons, Denver Allen Snyder of Massanutten, Va., Daniel Eugene Snyder and wife, Tammy, of Hopewell, Va., and David Wade Snyder and wife, Laura, of Valley Bend; five daughters, Delores Ann Louk and husband, Ottis, of Huttonsville, Dianna Lynn McCauley and husband, Roger, of Hewett, Debra Jean Armstrong and husband, Ronnie, of Mill Creek, Donna Denise McLaughlin and husband, Ronnie, of Newburg, Md., and Dora Lee Kelley of Dailey; three brothers, Lyde "Doc" Lanham and wife, Ronetta, of Ravenna, Ohio, Eugene Lanham and wife, Shirley, of Mill Creek and Donald Lanham and wife, Cindy, of Valley Bend; three sisters, Thelma Haney and husband, Richard, Barbara Sue Sutton and husband, Dixie, and Mary Lanham, all of Mill Creek; one sister-in-law, Naomi Lanham of Mill Creek; one brother-in-law, Ralph Snyder; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were two brothers, Wade and Bain Lanham; and two infant sisters, Bonnie and Wanda Lanham.
In 1973, Virginia graduated from the Davis Memorial Hospital School of Practical Nursing. Virginia was employed with the Elkins Convalescent Center were she served those in need for 32 years. Virginia was a member of Point Mountain Church.
Visitation will be at Runner Funeral Home Wednesday, July 30, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., the funeral hour with the Rev. Marshall Williams and the Rev. Roger McCauley officiating. Interment will follow in the Jerusalem United Methodist Cemetery in Mill Creek. Arrangements for Virginia have been entrusted to the Runner Funeral Home of Elkins.
