Mrs. Calhoun was born Oct. 9, 1924, in Gladwyn, W.Va., to Arthur and Retha (Carr) George and came to this area in 1982 from Canton, Ohio.
She was a real estate agent for the Thomas Edwards Real Estate office in Canton.
Mrs. Calhoun was a member of the Inverness Church of God, where she was active in the women’s prayer group.
Her enjoyments in life were volunteering at nursing homes, shopping and teaching Bible studies.
Her husband, John C. Calhoun Sr., preceded her in death on March 8, 1998.
Survivors include a son, John F. Young of Springfield, Tenn.; daughter, Nancy Clevinger of Lecanto; stepson, John C. Calhoun Jr. of Massillon, Ohio; brother, Levi O. White of Ripley, W.Va.; sister, Josephine Roy of Bridgeport, W.Va.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Chas. E. Davis Funeral Home with Crematory, Inverness.
