Clifford Mack "Bob" Dolly Jr, 70, passed away Thursday morning, Feb. 16, 2012, at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Robin and Tammy Dolly of Elkins.
He was born April 24, 1941, at Valley Bend, a son of the late Clifford Mack Dolly Sr. and the late Mary Ellen Flint Dolly.
He was formerly married to Charlene Coberly Mace.
Surviving are one son, Robin C. Dolly and wife, Tammy, of Elkins; two granddaughters, Meghan and Allison Dolly; one brother, Charles E. Dolly and wife, Laura, of Fairmont; two sisters, Jo Ellen Parsons of Elkins and Linda Sue Isner and husband, Asher, of Beverly; and seven nieces and nephews, John and Jay Parsons, Ashley, Mandy and Jason Isner, Chad Dolly and Charla Secreto.
Also preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother-in-law, Jim Parsons.
Bob was a graduate of Tygart Valley High School with the class of 1959 and West Virginia Business College in Clarksburg in 1960. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving from 1966 until 1968. Bob was employed for 36 years by Citizens National Bank of Elkins where he served as vice president until 1996. He was a member of Benevolent Portective order of Elks Lodge No. 1135, Past Master of Elkins Lodge No. 108 A.F.& A.M., Elkins Chapter No. 35 R.A.M., Pilgrim No. 21 Knights of Templar, Osiris Temple A.A.O.N.M.S. of Wheeling, Tygart Valley Shrine Club and the Woodford Memorial United Methodist Church. Bob served on the Randolph County Board of Education and helped to build the elementary schools in the Elkins Area. He was involved in the organization of the Elkins Youth Soccer League and served as an assistant director of the Mountain State Forest Festival for several years. Bob loved fishing and hunting on Smith Mountain in Pendleton County with his buddies at the "Shirt Tail Lodge" and later on Allegheny Mountain with the "Guy Harper Highway Hunting Club." Bob most enjoyed the daily phone calls from his sisters and closest friends, the companionship and loyalty of a little dog named Lily and his relationship with his granddaughters, of which he was most proud.
At Bob's request, his remains were cremated. A private service will be conducted at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care Corp., P.O. Box 760, Arthurdale, WV 26520 or to the charity of choice in Bob's memory.
