Robert Arnold Eby, 86, of Aberdeen passed away March 10, 2010 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital in Aberdeen. He was born June 27, 1923 in Orofino-Clear, Idaho to Jesse and Viola (Thornton) Eby. Robert was raised in Fraser, Idaho and attended school in Weippe, Idaho.

On May 28, 1944, he married Berneil Annetta Barnes in Orofino, Idaho. She survives him at the family home in Aberdeen. Robert was drafted into the Army in 1945 and was stationed at Camp Roberts in California. He worked for West Coast Grocery which later was named State Distributing, retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Alder Grove Church and the Aberdeen Senior Center. Robert was an avid hunter for years and enjoyed a lifetime of playing Pinochle. After retiring he and Berneil traveled the 49 States in their travel trailer. He never missed watching a Mariners game.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his children; Roberta Ellen (Mike) Myer, Kathy Renee (Larry) Carnine, Dana Earl (Linda Willis) Eby, and Mila J’Nine (Tim) Bernethy; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; his niece that was like a daughter, Angela (Bob) Deatherage and their daughters, Tani and Tera; sister, Lazetta (Leo) Cochrell and brother-in-law, Edward Higley. Robert’s sister, Helen Higley preceded him in death. His father Jesse passed away when Robert was 15. His mother Viola later married Jack Aggar, they also preceded him in death.
