Herb Brown Obituary
Herb Brown died in Redding on August 17, 2010. He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy Brown, and devoted father of Susan Boilon, Jeff Brown, Heather Hammill and the late Mike Brown; loving father-in-law of Reed Boilon, Nicky Philips-Brown and Mark Hammill and adoring grandfather of Alex Munoz, Summer Fetterman, Josh Boilon, Luke Boilon, Jordan Boilon, Luz Brown and Bonnie Brown. He is also survived by four great grandchildren. Born October 16, 1924 in Seattle, WA Herb graduated from Roosevelt High School and attended the University of Washington for two years. He served as a pilot in the Navy Air Corps during World War II. He spent his career in the lumber industry rising to the position of Lumber Sales Manager for Kimberly Clark Corporation in Anderson and as a lumber broker for Western Woods Forest Products in Chico. Herb served as an Anderson City Councilman from 1965 to 1970. He was also a member of the City's Fire Commission. He was a past member of the Masons, Elks and Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He loved golf, dancing, swimming, University of Washington Huskies/Cal Bears football, travel and the city of Anderson. He will be dearly missed by all.
