He was the son of Lord Patrick de Chaworth and Werberg (?).2,3 Arms: Barry of ten or and gules an orle of martlets sable.5 Pain de Chaworth was surety, being at that time one of the barons-marcher, for Isabel de Mortimer that she could come to the king's exchequer on the octaves of St. Michael to satisfy for such debts as she owed to the late King John in 1217/18 at 2 Henry III.1 He married Gundred de la Ferte, daughter of William de la Ferte and Margaret de Briwere, before 1221.1
