Martin Tichenor's second son, Daniel, born at New Haven 9 October 1656, held land in his own name at Newark by 1680, [fn 15] the year before his father died. He married Elizabeth Baldwin who was named the co-executrix of his will. [fn 16] Daniel performed services for the community such as being entrusted with correcting chidren whose conduct failed to meet community standards. [fn 17] He expanded his lands through purchase and was styled a "yeoman" in his will. He died before 28 June 1728 and his will of 4 November 1727 names his children: John, Joseph, Daniel and Jane Tuttle. The will
also describes land passed down to his children, including "meadows bought of John Ward." [fn 18]
