Josie CooperJosie S. Cooper, 96, of Harman, passed away Dec. 22 at Cortland Acres Nursing Home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1912, at Harman, a daughter of the late Henry and Dolly Vandevander Smith. Survivors include two daughters Dorothy Waybright of Jenningston and Wilma Jean Fulmer of Chesterland, Ohio; two sisters, Gladys Harper of Harman and Mary Ellen Floyd of Akron, Ohio; 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emerson Abraham Cooper in 1983; two sons, Billy and Palmer Cooper; and five brothers, one sister, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Cooper was a member of the Harman Church of the Brethren, Harman Farm Women's Club and the Harman Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.
Friends were received at the Harman Church of the Brethren on Friday, Dec 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Dec. 27, at Harman Church of the Brethren at 11 a.m. with the Rev. John Moyers officiating. Interment followed in the Smith Cemetery. Hinkle Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
