. . . Richard Price, who was born February 17, 1757 in Alexandria, Virginia and died July 22, 1834 in Marion County, (W) Virginia, where he was buried in the Lawson Cemetery at Fairview. He served in the Revolutionary War, No. 12067. According to service records and his pension, he enlisted at Leesburg, Virginia and served from January 1777 one year as a private under Captain Payton Harrison and Colonel Spottswood. In 1780, he spent two months under Captain Francis Russell and in May 1781, he served under Captain Cleveland and Colonel Matthew. In 1781, he guarded prisoners from Cornwallis’ captured army. During his service, he was engaged in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown and the skirmish at Bacon’s Branch.
In 1794, he moved to Monongalia County, Virginia. Earlier, he married his first wife, Nancy Dallas, said to be of the same line as George M. Dallas, Vice-President under James Polk. She died in 1800. It is generally assumed that Nancy Dallas was the mother of the four oldest children and Eleanor Pritchard was mother of the two youngest.

. . . Eleanor Pritchard Price died before April 13, 1825 when her widower, Richard Price, married for the third time in Monongalia County, Virginia. He wife, Elizabeth Arnett, was the daughter of Andrew Arnett. The surety was Joseph Shackleford. William Price, son of Richard, was the administrator of his estate. 8
