907Greg: This is the Frederick Snyder b. 1789 in Pendleton Co., VA, d. March 20, 1860 in Webster Co., VA, son of John snyder II and Catherine Bickle (Pickle). Married Mary Alice Simmons, b. 1793 in Pendleton Co. and died after 1840 in Randolph Co., VA. Parents were John simmons, St. and Anna Mary Unknown. They had 11 children: Catherine b. abt. 1810, m. 1846 to Adam Louk; John Wesley b. 1813, d. abt. 1866, m. 1838 to Elizabeth Grogg; Jacob b. 1815, d. 1886, m./ 1836 to Sarah F. Wamsley; Mary "May" b. 1823, d. 1901, m. 1843 to Allen Markram Anderson; Emanuel b. 1823, d. 1907, m. 1846 to Nancy Louk, m. Emeley M. Anderson; Barbara b. 1824, e. 1911, m. 1840 to Elias Zickefoose, m. Alfred D. Anderson; Daniel b. 1829, d. 1916, m. 1851 to Angeline Jane anderson, m. amanda V. Bender; Sarah Flora "Sally: b. 1830, d. 1905, m. 1847 George Lewis Anderson; Elizabeth "Betty" b. abt. 1831; Anna b. 1833, d. 1901, m. 1849 Alexander Crawford Anderson; Elias b. 1835, m. 1858 to Mary E. Pugh. Frederick served in the War of 1812. Buried in the Harris Cemetery, Replete, Webster Co., WV. Death was caused by a tree fall. He went to Randolph co., where he owned land up Conley Run that his cousin Harmon Snyder bought when Frederick moved on to Lewis, Braxton, & Webster Counties. Of course, the Braxton-Webster was on the same land, just the county changed. The farm was called Snyder's Knob. In 1850 Census Frederick and sons Daniel and Elias were living with Allen and Mary Snyder Anderson, probably due to death of his wife. 908I am looking for information on John Snyder and Catherine Bickle. They are my 4th or 5th great grandparents. They lived in Pendleton Co., WV. They had 8 children. My line is their son Frederick, who married Mary Simmons, their son Jacob, who married Sarah F. Wamsley, their son John Chandler, who married Rachel VanGuilder, my grandfather Andrew Floyd, who married Vashti Patterson.
Rachel was John Chandler's second wife. Any information on this family would be greatly appreciated and I would be eternally grateful.
